About
Background
I am an Early Years Consultant and trainer based in the West Midlands. A primary school teacher by trade, I have spent over twenty five years in the education sector predominately in Early Years or KS1. For more than half of those years I spent as a leader in a nursery school and children’s centre, working with children and families in South Birmingham. I had responsibility for leading and managing a large staff team and supporting local childcare providers, child minders and other schools. This included giving advice and guidance, sharing of good practice and delivering training through a network. Within this role I was also a safeguarding lead for many years and worked closely with the LA to devise ways to support the PVI sector in this area.
I have always enjoyed supporting, mentoring others and sharing my knowledge and learning from others to ensure better outcomes for the children. I now offer a range of services and training to continue to do this. My varied roles in Early Years both in schools and childcare mean that I can relate to the pressures and obstacles that settings face in day to day life. The aim for my training is to be able to deliver the facts, knowledge, theories interwoven with activities, real life anecdotes and practical hints and tips to make things work for you and your setting.
I am an approved ICAN Tutor, which means I am licensed to deliver the Early Talk and Early Talk Boost speech and language programmes to support settings, schools, child minders or parents.
